Part of which I learned is that Rec709a is actually gamma 1.9 meaning if I understand right it actually has less dynamic range as a work around for exports matching the workspace window on an MBP. So found the Rec 709a work around with the “use Mac display color profiles for viewer” checked - and my exports started matching but it was washing out my footage (blacks were super lifted, contrast compressed and color shifts) and I couldn’t seem to get it back to the point that it looked like with 709 gamma 2.4 color space.

Just sorta dealt with this issue but it was a hair different because I was using a color managed workflow on an MBP DR 17.3 with BRAW footage and output space set to Rec 709 gamma 2.4 and graded the whole project before realizing my exports weren’t matching my viewer in DR.
